Forty-two young people join Creand’s summer training placements
The bank has also rolled out the 4th Creand Summer Innovation Challenge, inviting participants to come up with new ideas on how to attract young talent to the banking industry of the future.
Creand Crèdit Andorrà has kicked off the 48th edition of its summer training placements for young people. This year, 42 university or master’s degree students are taking part, and during July and August they will be working in various areas of the institution from the branch network to the central services departments. The placements give them the chance to round out their education with professional experience. The summer training placement programme has also cemented its position as one of the bank’s flagship initiatives for attracting and developing young talent.
To welcome them to the summer placements, the bank hosted a group hackathon in the Soldeu area of Grandvalira. The young people had to solve a business challenge while also learning about innovation techniques and design thinking.
The bank is additionally promoting the 4th Creand Summer Innovation Challenge programme amongst participants in the summer placements. This is an initiative running alongside the placements and any of the young people can sign up for it.
The action consists of several working sessions and follow-up meetings with experts from the institution in which participants develop innovative proposals. This year, the challenge will be to come up with ideas on how to attract and retain young talent in the future. Over the course of the summer, they will receive ongoing guidance and a certificate of completion at the end of the programme. The Creand Summer Innovation Challenge enables them to pick up new knowledge along with skills in multidisciplinary teamwork, critical thinking, effective communication and taking a proactive approach.
The Creand Summer Innovation Challenge “is an opportunity for participants in the training placements to experience corporate intrapreneurship based on a company challenge,” says Santiago de Larrea, Innovation Director at Creand Crèdit Andorrà. “Presenting their proposals to a jury and the entire organisation is an extremely rewarding experience for both their own development and also for the company as a whole.”

People taking part in the training placements have the chance to gain professional experience in a business setting, deepen their understanding of banking and the financial industry, and acquire new knowhow and insights for their future development.
Students who would like to join this programme in forthcoming editions can email their CV to seleccio@creand.ad from January onwards to be considered for the selection process.
